Studies on the Syntheses of Coclaurine and Analogous Compounds. (2). Synthesis of dl-Coclaurine

Abstract

The authors synthesized dl-coclaurine hydrochloride from β-(3-methoxy-4-benzyloxy)-phenylethylamine (III) and 4-benzyloxyphenylacetyl chloride (IV, R=-CH₂C₆H₅). Comparison of the substance here obtained with the one Finkelstein recently prepared showed that both gave identical data.
