The synthesis of 6, 13-dichlorotriphenodioxazine was investigated first. Then concentrated sulfuric acid and sym-dichlorodimethyl ether or aluminium chloride-pyridine mixture and sym-dichlorodimethyl ether was used to obtain mono- andb ischloroemthyl compounds by chloromethylation. Pyridinium salt and isothiuronium salt were derived from these compounds and their dyeing abilities were investigated.
