Aoki, J. &F. Ito, 1997. A new species of oribatid mite collected from ant nests in Oriental tropics. J. Acarol. Soc. Jpn., 6(2): 107-112.
A new species of oribatid mite, Protoribates myrmecophilus, is described from nests of myrmicine ants Myrmecina spp. in West Malaysia, Sabah and Sumatra. The new species differs from the known congeners in the sensilli almost without. barbation, the rostrum projecting in trapezoid form and the hardly visible notogastral setae.

    Takaku, G. 1997. A new species of the genus Macrocheles(Acari: Macrochelidae)associated with Eusilpha kurosawai M. Nishikawa, 1986(Coleoptera: Silphidae). J. Acarol. Soc. Jpn., 6(2): 117-122
A new species of the genus Macrocheles, Macrocheles kurosai sp. nov., is described and illustrated on the basis of material collected from the abdomen under hind wings of a silphid beetle, Eusilpha kurosawai M. Nishikawa, on Amami-Oshima Island, southwest Japan. The new species is referable to the glaber species group of the genus Macrocheles. Macrocheles kurosai is very similar to M. nataliae Bregetova and Koroleva, 1960, but is distinguished by the ornamentation of the dorsal setae and sternal shield. I recognized M. nataliae and M. kurosai as the members of a new complex, nataliae complex, within the glaber group, and I defined the complex.

In the course of ecological and taxonomical study of oribatid mite fauna of Mongolia many unnamed species of oribatids were found. This paper deals with the descriptions of four new species of oribatid mites from Mongolia. They are Oribatula lineatus, Hemileius lanceolatus, Peloptulus latilamellatus and Nortonella mongolica.
