Influence of waveform of applied voltage on ethylene decomposition using dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma reactor is investigated. A coaxial cylindrical DBD reactor is used. The nitrogen, oxygen and water vapor mixture gas is injected into the reactor, and its mixture ratio is varied. The rectangular and triangular wave voltages are generated using a high voltage amplifier, and pulsed voltages are generated using a magnetic pulse compression circuit, which are applied to the DBD reactor. The frequency is fixed at 1000 Hz. The pulse voltage has the highest energy efficiency for O3 production and C2H4 decomposition, and the triangular wave voltage is the lowest.

The 12th International Symposium on Applied Plasma Science (ISAPS 2019) was held at University of Yamanashi and Kofu Kinenbi Hotel, Yamanashi, Japan, from September 24 through 28, 2019. This international conference was organized by the Organizing Committee of ISAPS ’19 and co-sponsored by the Institute of Applied Plasma Science (IAPS), the University of Yamanashi, and in cooperation with Chulalongkorn University, JWRI, Osaka University, IRS at University of Stuttgart, Warsaw University of Technology, and Dalian University of Technology, etc. We were pleased that the conference was finished successfully; having more than 60 delegates from 10 countries. We had 25 oral presentations and 20 poster presentations, discussing on the research results related to Applied Plasma Science, and exchanging each information to establish strong collaborations. And we have had a good time in Yamanashi: shrines, winery, and Kawaguchi Lake near Mt. Fuji. Following group photos were taken during the ISAPS conference 2019. The selected excellent papers will be published to the Scopus Indexing journal: VACUUM (Special issue in 2020) by Elsevier, or Frontier of Applied Technology, Vol.13 (January and July 2020) published by the IAPS, after peer reviewing by plural referees.
