This paper aims to offer recommendations on designing and implementing an archival resource information management system using Access to Memory(AtoM), which is an opensource application for standards-based archival description and access. Analyses of websites that already utilize AtoM have revealed certain issues related to technical terms and access points, which can influence system usability. Moreover, this paper discusses the factors that need to be considered when utilizing AtoM, using a particular case study of the Shibusawa Eiichi Memorial Foundation, which launched its AtoM-based institutional archives system in 2019. Based on these two research results, the paper suggests key considerations for designing the system effectively.
