In this paper, we analyze small JavaScript projects on GitHub in recent years to investigate the prevalence of the class syntax in JavaScript. JavaScript is originally a prototype-based object-oriented language; however, since 2015, class has been introduced as a syntax-sugar, enabling the class-based programming style. The results of our analysis showed that 25% of the projects defined classes, while only 14.3% of the projects used instantiation of objects (functions and object literals) other than the classes defined in the program, indicating that class-based rather than prototype-based programming is used. These results suggest that it is desirable to extend the language specification to make classes easier to use and to provide libraries as classes in the future.

To promote the use of model checking in industry, we have developed a modeling support environment based on visual programming technique.This environment can automatically generate input models for a model-checker nuXmv by extending Node-RED, a node-graph style visual programming environment.In this paper, we evaluate the effectiveness of the developed support environment through comparative experiments targeting novice model checking users.Based on the feedback, we have discussed extensions to improve the efficiency of the modeling process.

In this paper, we conducted an experiment in which ChatGPT played the role of an SE and interacted with a customer to acquire requirements for building an information system, in order to investigate whether it is possible for a generative AI to automate or assist non-experts in software requirement elicitation. Out of 244 total requirements in the system used in the experiment, 7 were initially given to ChatGPT, resulting in an average of 35.7 new requirements, which corresponds to 15.1% of the 237 possible requirements. In the future, it is necessary to improve the protocol by providing ChatGPT with more information as initial requirements.

Despite the increasing popularity of open source software (OSS), some OSS projects have stalled in development.It is not easy to find alternative OSS projects when the OSS that one is using stalls in development.To address this problem, we propose a tool that explores active projects among fork projects on platforms such as GitHub.The tool detects the active projects based on commit activity.

We propose a software architecture for cooperatively behaving mobile swarm robots. A complex robotic system that provides various services can be realized as a ream of swarm robots. Through our architecture, we have implemented relatively simple services on individual robots and get together to construct complex services. We have developed an architecture for implementing services provided by such swarm robots. In this paper, we show the general framework of our architecture and report the results of applying it to a swarm robot system for security service. We have observed our architecture simplified the development of individual robots and enables the efficient development of complex robot systems.
