The COVID-19 pandemic made almost all events online. The Human-Centered Design (HCD) research meeting we organize twice a year also had to be held online. However, online events have some problems, such as the lack of serendipity, difficulties in administrating a poster session in the virtual environment, etc. To overcome these difficulties, we tried several challenges to conduct an online academic meeting. One strategy was to hold a video session instead of a poster session. Another one was introducing the online event support system named OLiVES. This paper reports the result of our attempts and discusses the effectiveness of such challenges.

It visualizes the changes and accumulation of value that users gain from their experiences. We propose a new method and process for visualizing the value of user experiences by combining the KA method, value maps, and the UX period model. This will be a useful means of articulating the relationships among values. By knowing the relationships between values, we can get hints on what value to provide in each period. It also serves as a guidepost for creating business measures that present the final goal. We defined the layout of the visualization model and the notation to express the connection between values, and applied it to an actual project. As a specific project, we adopted "the value brought by self-made (DIY) activities" and structured the value from auto-ethnography and interview logs.

An "emotion-based" method of idea construction for developing products and services. Proposal of a groupthink method that does not depend on the language information of functions or specifications, but utilizes the visual information obtained through images. A design method to visualize scenes from images, focus attention on emotions among characters on the scenes, and thereby compose UX scenarios.

Toward the realization of Society 5.0, Human Centered Design (HCD) will be required for all systems around us, and concepts of human-centered will be applied to society as a whole, including users. However, it is not enough that various HCD practices are being implemented in each field of development. HCD is required not only for the optimization of individual system users, but also for the entire larger and more complex systems that are created when all the systems surrounding people work together. In this paper, we propose the concept of human-centered system architecture for Society 5.0 so that HCD can be incorporated not only in individual systems but also in the whole system that appears by interoperating with surrounding systems.
