    The current study developed a perceived ethical climate questionnaire based on theory of moral development (Kohlberg, 1981) and ethical climate model (Victor & Cullen, 1988). An initial pool of 78 items was subjected to a series of item analyses and a final set of 37 items was chosen. A confirmatory factor analysis suggests that this final set of items measure perceptions of eight different ethical climate dimentions. Evidence for construct validity was sought by means of nomological network analyses. Results suggested that each perceived ethical climate dimentions are related to employee ethical attitudes and behaviors in theoretically predicted manners. Practical and theoretical implications, as well as implications for future research, are discussed.

    Occupational pride, feelings of self-respect for one’s occupation, facilitates the intention to implement safety actions while performing a job (Oya & Haga, 2016). We questioned whether organizational justice guides safety actions with increasing occupational pride, and how strong affective commitment to the organization enhances safety intention in comparison with occupational pride. We administered a survey to 1800 workers from 4 organizations under the hypothetical Model and analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling. Results were as follows: 1) Organizational justice had a stimulatory effect on both occupational pride and organizational commitment. 2) The total effect of occupational pride on safety attitudes, which was an antecedent for safety behavioral intentions, was large. In contrast, the effect of organizational commitment was relatively small. The gap came from the difference in the effects on the schedule-adherence factor in work motivation, i.e., occupational pride had an inhibitory effect and affective commitment was relatively stimulatory. 3) Organizational justice and occupational pride facilitated the subjective norm in workplace safety. These implied that measures of high levels of organizational justice would affect workers’ attitudes and performance in occupational safety.

    This study examines the development of scales measuring supervisor trust of a subordinate (ToSb), as well as subordinate trust of a supervisor (ToSp). First, through the analysis of data (supervisor: N = 20; subordinate: N = 13), ToSp and ToSb were constructed. Next, web data analysis (supervisor: N = 150; subordinate: N = 150), was used to test, the validity and reliability of the ToSp and ToSb constructed in this study. The results confirmed that ToSp and ToSb had high validity and reliability except for the reverse-scored items. Therefore, future research should review reverse scoring items of ToSp and ToSb.

    The purpose of this quantitative research is to understand the process of young people going through unwilling career, from the first year to around third year of employment. The subject of this research is newly-hired employees, who unwillingly entered a company. This study consists of semi-structured interviews and they were analyzed based on the M-GTA. As a result, 51 concepts were generated. These were organized into 12 categories, and a result chart was made. According to this, the whole process consists of three layers; future, present and past. This process is divided into 4 terms –temporary term, deadlocked term, constructing term, and acceptance term. This research suggests that the most important way for them to be able to overcome the mental instability (deadlocked period) is to be aware of their own “turning point”, and put their efforts to face their present work, which lead them to develop their own new future perspective.

    In recent years, eco-friendly products have become increasingly fashionable. The present study examined the effect that attitudes toward eco-friendly shopping bags (eco-bags), with a focus on their fashionable, have on environmentally conscious behavior. Results from a total of 245 participants who responded to a questionnaire indicated that not only essential elements of eco-bags, such as "being good for the environment" and "perceived psychological and economical cost," affect pro-environmental attitudes and behavior, but others-oriented factor, including the style and fashionability of eco-bags, can also promote pro-environmental behavior among consumers. The validity of this model was examined based on these results.
