From August to October 2024, severe flooding in Northern Thailand, triggered by heavy rains and Typhoon Yagi, caused deaths, injuries, and extensive damage. This preliminary report outlines the disaster timeline, impact, and response actions, including the operations center establishment. The inundation areas are presented using satellite data and news, with visuals like satellite imagery and some photographs highlighting the flood’s severity. Despite relief efforts, challenges in disaster management emerged. This study informs future research and policy to enhance resilience and preparedness in Northern Thailand.
