This study investigated the image of Child-rearing Family that students of a childcare worker training school have and considered the relations between their image of child-rearing family, the students' own growth environment, their experience with children, and their cognition of children. We asked 534 students of the College of Nursery School Teacher Education to fill out a questionnaire and conducted factor analysis and path analysis on their data. Factor analysis results revealed four patterns of image of child-rearing family: "Sense of Life Going Smoothly", "Feelings of Fatigue and Hectic Schedule", "Feelings of Happiness and Satisfaction" and "Help-seeking Intention". Path analysis results revealed that "Experience in caring for children" was the factor that influenced "Desired Number of children", "Liking for Children", and "Motives for Becoming a Childcare worker". "Liking for Children" and "Motives for Becoming a Childcare worker" influenced the positive images "Sense of Life Going Smoothly" and "Feelings of Happiness and Satisfaction". "Affection from Own Parent" influenced positive child-rearing family image directly. "Experience in caring for children" was the only factor that reduced child-rearing related stress in "Help-seeking Intention". We concluded practical training experience and affirmative guidance for students are effective in the construction of realistic child-rearing family image.
The objective of this study was to extract, classify and interpret what kind of characteristics contribute to community welfare. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 122 students of social welfare in a group setting in July 2009. Participants were also asked to provide free written comments about "what kind of characteristics contribute to community welfare." The researchers analyzed 50 responses. Data were analyzed using KH Coder (Ver.2.beta.27) developed by Higuchi (2011), in which hierarchical cluster analysis and correspondence analysis are conducted, and the results were examined and classified. Nine clusters of characteristics were extracted as a result of the hierarchical cluster analysis. The researchers also divided the results into four word groups based on correspondence analysis. When the results of the hierarchical cluster analysis and those of the correspondence analysis were compared, a close relationship was observed. The present findings regarding characteristics that contribute to community welfare can be applied to the promotion of community welfare.
The Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) is a projective psychological test that presents an illustration of a person or persons engaging in some activity and asks the subject to create a story based upon the characters he/she sees. It is thought that contents of the resulting imagined narrative can provide an insight into the subject's personality. The research presented here involves a pre- and post-TAT treatment comparison of a male subject diagnosed with a high-functioning pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), who underwent psychiatric day care as a means of rehabilitation. The study examines the state of his condition before and after the TAT treatment. At the first assessment, the subject spoke very little even over long periods of time. His defensive posture was evident, and he refused to respond to three of the presented illustrations. At the second assessment, however, the subject's defensive posturing reduced, he began to speak with more regularity, and his references to the story's content became more specific. However, little change was observed in such areas as the perception of stimuli, recognition of emotions, understanding of the chronology of events, and relationships between characters. The changes revealed by the TAT in this study show that although problems regarding the comprehension of chronological events, interpersonal skills, and tendencies toward fragmentary perception remain, the subject will possibly be able to reintegrate into society on the basis of advances made by him in acquiring skills and desires concerning personal relations and resisting uncertainty.
From the perspective of the child's development, family support relationships are essential. Because currently social support for child rearing is inadequate, we are focusing on social support provided by grandmothers. RESEACH FOCUS ON TWO PERSPECTIVES : We are exploring the characteristics of the care provided by grandmothers: 1) Primarily from the perspective of the grandmother's own daughter, a mother of her grandchild 2) Secondarily, from a Grandmother's perspective. FOCUS OF QUESTIONAIRE: 1) Evaluation of grand mothering activities 2) Intensity of grand mothering activities As a result of the statistically reliable analysis of the questionnaire data, we found five factors of a grandmother intensity of involvement in caring for their daughter's children. As follow Daughter's perspective : 1 Mutual approval of grand mothering 2 Daughter's mothering style supported 3 Independent of grand mother 4 Constrained by the grandmother's support 5 Daughter dependent on grandmother Grandmother's perspective : 1 Eager to give any form of support 2 Shares her wisdom 3 Aware of differences between herself and daughter 4 Daughter should follow the grandmother 5 Daughter independent of grandmother In addition, we want to examine mother's (daughter) concerns for the grandmother's child care participation and the grandmother repeatedly in the future.
In order to clarify the present conditions and issues of the visually impaired people in Kochi prefecture, a survey as regard to their use of information equipments according the mailing list was conducted from July 1 to August 31 in 2008. Then, 21 people who used the information equipments answered the survey. 60% of them answered that they had difficulties reading and writing the ink characters by using even a magnifying reading equipment. There were no significant differences in the years and operation level regarding to the use of personal computers and cell phones between the visually impaired people who could read and write the ink characters and who could not. Also, there was not difference indicated in the purposes of using Internets and gathering information between the visually impaired and people without visual problems. In addition, they answered that they did not feel any gaps with the people without visual problems doing tasks on Internet. However, although the visually impaired people did not feel any differences in collecting information on Internet, they thought there were gaps in collecting information in other social life and not enough support were given to decrease those gaps. Therefore, if those gaps were tried to diminish as much as possible for the visual impaired people, it was considered that the personal computer volunteers might be able to take an active part in supporting them.
The drawing is made use of for assessment and treatment in the clinical psychology. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the kinetic family drawing and the kinetic school drawing. We were going to explain the effect using a concept called a feeling of physical self-expansion. As a result of having surveyed a precedent study of our country, it developed that a physical sense and a perception of the body movement played an important role. We trigger this physical sense and perception of the body movement, and the certified clinical psychologist must interpret drawing. The future problem is to accumulate a proof study. And it is to elucidate the source of the effect to have of the drawing.
