The X-ray stress measurement system has been installed in several companies in Japan and abroad. So far, measurement has been performed by workers with expertise. On the other hand, with the improvement of the user interface, advanced measurement equipment can be handled without expertise. Therefore, measurements are performed by someone with little expertise.

In this case, there is a demand for “staandard”to confirm the reliability of measuring instruments and operations. Therefore, we produced a“residual stress standard piece”from the user's point of view. This paper describes the concept and characteristics of the residual stress standard piece.
