Maintenance management is an essential operation that should be carried out effectively for maintaining, repairing, and rehabilitating highways and roads. In road maintenance site, the administrators and engineers want to refer and utilize the road ledger and its drawings. It is difficult to share the decision and information among road administrators office and sites using paper based ledger.
The primary objective of this study is to share the accurate decision about maintenance. This paper proposed a road maintenance system using two-dimensional paper based map and three-dimensional printer model. The maps and three-dimensional printer models are utilized to share the inspection points, past damages, and road ledger data using photographs taken by tablet PC and RFID. And, the system has the functions of referring and registering the discussed contents and on office and sites. The proposed system was evaluated the usability and capability in Shiraito Highland Way in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. The interviewed results were analyzed based on KJ method. The evaluation results indicated usability and capability on site usage. In the future work, the system will use and manage the daily inspection and rehabilitation data.

From this earthquake, in Fukuroi-city, Shizuoka-prefecture, it has implemented a lot of countermeasures against the Great Tsunami. One of them is the Mound type Tsunami Evacuation Facility. It was constructed following the needs of residents. It is the facility to survive our lives in the cases of emergencies, to use as a park during peacetime. This report, in the present time after the construction 2 years (the Great East Earthquake 7 years), confirms the awareness of the residents in Nakashinden district, compares that of the residents in Minatohigashi district and proposes the role of civil engineers. Especially, it indicates the engineer’s accountabilities to the local residents at the view point of the civil engineer.
