    In this paper, technical information which plays an important role in the decision making of corporate research and development is focused to set up the corporate strategy on R&D. In particular, the effective usage of technical information sources is examined, since those are inevitable through the practice of Intelligence theory which focuses on new product or new technology development. In addition to existing sources, the social media which has recently gained strong attentions is studied. As a result, necessary and enough sources of technical information sources are gathered and total view is unveiled. Furthermore, with a competitive advantage for enterprise technology strategy, an effective technical information sources and key notes are summarized and proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the case study of actual decision-making on new product planning and development of the A company. The report contributes to strategic planning of technology development for the enterprise who wants to increase competitiveness.

  • A Case Study of Japanese Pharmaceutical Industry M&A on the 2010 problem through Text-Mining

    Since the global financial crisis in 2008, the US and other intelligence communities realized the significance of the open source intelligence (OSINT). The OSINT is widely used for the intelligence for the national security. This paper is to illustrate opportunities and threats of the OSINT when it is applied to the competitive intelligence; and to put the text-mining as the core methodology for that application. For the case study of the application, this paper analyses the M&A developments of the Japanese pharmaceutical industry for the last decade, which holds the 2010 problem. We also validate the effectiveness of the text-mining as the OSINT methodology for the competitive intelligence.

  • ~Through the case with The Great Earthquake in East Japan~

    The Great East Japan Earthquake occurred on March 11th 2011 in the Tohoku District of Japan. The following study investigates the response to the event by Sendai Waste Management Ltd. This study took place after three months interval following the commencement of the recovery cycle. Multiple companies were operating in the affected areas, therefore the data derives from multiple sourced reports issued by the active waste management companies participating in the recovery cycle. As a result, both risk management and various data on the event itself were necessary. There is also a planned post-recovery evaluation. The conclusions of this paper present possible strategies to safeguard against and respond to future similar events. The rival enterprise exists in the situation in which the stricken area where the great earthquake occurs is confused. The intelligence activity of the enterprise in the stricken area for the defense as risk management to the rival enterprise is important. Moreover, the intelligence activity of the attack is also necessary as the enterprise.

    The intelligence for the policy intelligence is widely known to have the challenge as the stakeholders and their requirements are hard to be identified. However, the adequate methodology to overcome that challenge has not been well developed. This paper is to define newly the policy-environmental analysis as the essential intelligence technique for policy design to analyze the policy environment, and to construct its basic structure. As the case-study of the policy-environmental analysis, we deal with the case of the “Casino Special District", which has repeatedly come up as the policy issue since the first half of 2000's, but has been not realized yet. This paper is to analysis and verifies the effectiveness of the policy-environmental analysis through this case.

    This study gropes for possibility of the development of the learning program that I applied "a theory of the CI" to from the viewpoint of improvement of the ability for solution to the problem in the information education. I devised the learning program that I introduced CI by "the learning by the expanding" in "the period for integrated study" that was a curriculum of the secondary education into newly among other things. And I carried out a class of CFI in a CI study as inspection for the introduction for the first time in a junior college, and, as a result, possibility of the enforcement of the learning program for the secondary education by the education technique of this new CI was inspected. In addition, I pointed out the directionality while considering new technique about the evaluation to be united with learning activity at the same time.

    ABL (Asset-based lending) is a method of financing that uses as collateral a company's liquid assets, such as aggregate movable property, inventory collateral and receivables. Asset-based lending however will generally have a revolving credit limit that fluctuates based on the actual accounts receivables balances that the company has on an ongoing basis. Monitoring is an important role as the intelligence activity of the enterprise to observe the action or the decision making process of the specified enterprise. It will be describe, ABL will be one of the tool for monitoring the customer.
