It investigated about how halftone pattern influences color gamut and the amount of the ink used. When halftone pattern differs greatly, even if a printing paper, ink, etc. to be used are the same, color gamut differ. Compared with square halftone of 175 lines, the color reappearance region had expanded with FAIRDOT in the direction of chroma in the middle part. When change of dot percent is investigated in a simulation based on this result, inking quantity used at the time of printing may be able to decrease.

“AD-POWERs” which I developed detects automatically PC which serves as unused in office etc. Then, it participates in parallel processing automatically. Therefore, processing accelerates. “AD-POWERs” detects automatically PC with which the screen saver is turned on, transmits a processing program, processing data and processing result data. For this reason, a user should just develop (1)data division, (2)processing execution, (3)recovery of a result. It is possible to further development efficiently. Moreover, it is possible to carry out a systems configuration cheaply.

We report an experimental results of product photography for catalogs with a 16-band multispectoral camera(MSC). Print samples of MSC, which reproduce color of objects accurately, show two possibilities. 1) Usefulness for color proof without color correction. 2)Color quality is better than conventional digital cameras.

The high accuracy and dry on-demand printing (HADOP method) were evaluated for improving structure of a printing plate, and 20μm stripe pattern printing was achieved by preparing new photosensitive materials, which were basically composed of acrylic co-polymer with flexible Cary oil groups. The UV Ink was prepared by conventional materials design of UV hardening. The UV ink of a high thixotropic state was used to HADOP patterning because of a great importance in viscose and flat property of ink. Thus, isolated lines of 20μm levels were completed by the improvement for HADOP method. Color filters of preferred color reproduction were obtains by the isolated lines.

Recently, higher resolution and accuracy are required for mask fabrication due to decreasing minimum future size of LSI devices, adoption of 4X magnification, and addition of optical proximity correction (OPC) or assistant pattern on the masks. Phase shift masks (PSM) are also applied as the resolution enhancement technology. The e-beam exposure systems, and resist process performance is one of the most important factors to achieve those requirements. Quality assurance technologies, including metrology and repair, are also the key for next generation mask fabrication. In addition development status of masks for next generation lithography such as EPL and EUV were reviewed.

Optical anti-counterfeit tools are often used for securities. Crystagram is one of optical anti-counterfeit tools, which consists of diffraction grating cells made by electron beam technology. It shows a particular brilliant image which changes its color and brightness by light position or viewing position. So, Crystagram has had a high acceptance in the market as it has been adopted as the most important product for securities, brand protection, sales promotion, packages, etc. To get a more elaborate pattern to provide a better image expression, we have developed the new technology that provides color represented images. In this paper, we show the new grating arrangement rule for color representation, and show the Crystagram's available color range on the chromaticity diagram.

The system which supports the sales promotion operation of retail business has been developed. This system has 5 functions. (1) Plan for sales promotion for the year and the month, (2) Decide to use which media, (3) Select merchandise to be inserted in the media, (4) Commision to take a photograph of merchandise and (5) Check printed media at the store. And this system provides as ASP through the Internet. A customer‘s sales promotion section, buyers, and each store use, and it ties to operating support. This system was utilized and it became possible to build lasting partnership with retail business.

A new in-line density measurement system has been developed. This system consists of a new image capture head based on CCD and a light source and is mounted on a paper delivery of printing press. The image capture head reads solid density of control strips on printed sheets in real time as the sheets come through the delivery. Thus, efficient ink density control during printing can be achieved.

Information delivery service has started in market. As many people come to use the Internet, our customer companies desired that people enable to see bill statements and other personalized documents through the Internet. The trend is beginning not only by B-2C but by B-2B and inB. We considered the present service, problems, future subjects, etc. about delivering bill statements through the Internet.

We investigated uniform treatment for inner surface of cylinder with inductively coupled plasma. First, electric and magnetic fields generated by the induction coil and optical emission intensity of the plasma during discharge were measured. And their distributions were compared. Second, contact angles at the some points on the samples that were treated with argon plasma were measured to check uniformity of the treatment. Moreover, we deposited SiOx film on plastic substrate by CVD and the thickness distribution of the film was measured. It is shown that distribution of inductively coupled plasma is related with magnetic field distribution. And it needs to optimize magnetic field distribution for uniformity of plasma treatment.
