Sprayed Al-5Mg coating is widely used as a protection against corrosion on infrastructures composed of steels, such as bridges and elevated roads near seacoast. Previously, the first-principles calculation had indicated that additional metals of Sn, Li, Zn, Ca, Y and Bi have a possibility to improve cathodic protection ability for sprayed Al-5Mg coatings. In this paper, those additional metals effects on tensile adhesive strength of sprayed Al-5Mg coatings were examined. Consequently, the tensile adhesive strength of the sprayed Al-5Mg coating was 8 MPa, and those of 0.35 mass% Sn, 2.95 mass% Zn, 0.16 mass% Ca, 0.04 mass% Y and 0.19 mass% Bi added coatings were over 8 MPa. By contrast, 0.23 mass% Li added coating was 7 MPa, reduced in strength, because the hardness of its coating became lower. It was recognized that additional metals of Sn, Zn, Ca, Y and Bi were not reduce the tensile adhesive strength of sprayed Al-5Mg coating.
