The experiments of continuous Roasting using Bessi iron concentrate were carried on for two months to study the roasting efficiency, material balance, heat balance, and the operation method. Moreover, the flexibility of capacity of the furnace, dust and SO3 were investigated and the experiments on charging of slurry containing proper quantity of water were also performed.

Satisfactory results were obtained on roasting pyrrhotite of Kawayama product in Fluidized bed as one of the treatment for poor ore.
Using the particles of larger diameter in order to form the fluidized bed, we odtained a stable state for roasting and could increase the capacity of roaster.
The cinder is possible to use for the raw material of iron by extracting copper in it with water.

Nowadays, in manufacturing industry, "Enthalpy balance" is widely used for the control of energy saving, but it seems to be not always effective and adequate when we refer carefully to the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Moreover, in such industry as ammonia synthesis, which involves many high pressure processes, we can not comprehend exact value of the compressing power of material gases when only enthalpy balance is used.
In this report, we tried to employ so called "Availability, " B=H-T0S, as a function which consistently indicates scale of energy utility from material coke to final product in ammonia manufacture and aimed at making clear the actual losses of energy in each process. As a comparison, the same kind of analysis of ammonia production by water electrolysis is shown here.
All of the results of these calculations are indicated both in tables and figures.
