    In this paper it will discuss on the Kansei aspect point of view towards the feeling and experience of each individuals when wearing the traditional clothes. This research aims at grasp of characteristic of Kansei to define the relationship of traditional clothing images that are used as daily clothes. This research addresses to identify individual differences in significant Kansei and relationship between natural environment and working situation. Kansei is needed in clothing design to understand how people received their impressions or emotions from the object. Results obtained from two types of traditional clothes were: Baju Kurung can be categorized as comfort and ease mobility whereas Baju Kebaya was representing couture sensibility.

    This paper clarifies that the main factors of Kansei, which are the fundamental factors of human sensitivity, work well for accessing different kinds of media data having similar impression. First, the possibility of the existence of the common Kansei factors for pictures, sound clips, and video clips is shown. Five factors are experimentally obtained for pictures and video clips. These factors are considered to be corresponding to one another. Four factors are obtained for sound clips. These are considered to be included in those for pictures and video clips. By using these common Kansei factors, it is considered to be possible to adapt a kind of media data to another kind of media data based on impression. The prototype system based on this fact is constructed. This system compares the factor score of the key media data with those of other kinds of media data. For pictures and video clips, the comparison of factor scores is straitforward. For sound clips and the other types of media data, the factor scores of th e potency for sound clips are compared with those of the activity and of the potency for the other types of media data. This system is evaluated through the evaluation technique of the information retrieval. The evaluation results show that the prototype system can retrieve a kind of media data suitable to another kind of media data.

    This research was carried out as part of the research in order to construct design support system for the industrial product. The research purpose are consideration on inference model applied to the design support system and construction of design support system for the printing machine. In the first half of the research, the study on the inference model for applying to design support system was carried out. The following were taken up as inference models: multivariate regression model, fuzzy inference model and neural network. To begin with, experimental systems using these models were constructed. Then, the simulation, which acquired the design plan was carried out using the simple form. This result was examined from the viewpoint of the relation between design plan and inference model. As a result of the consideration, the fuzzy inference model was chosen for design support system constructed here as an appropriate inference model. In the latter half of the research, the design support system using fuzzy inference was constructed. As a case of supported product, the printing machine was chosen. The reason is because the design of this machine is researched as a development of the fundamental shape. In addition, it is because the application of the system constructed here can be expected in such product. Using the constructed system, simulation was performed in order to acquire the design plan. As the result, it was shown that the design plan in proportion to a demand could be acquired.

    Tactile sensation for four nylon6 satin fabrics of different fiber fineness has been examined. Four grades of fineness of the fibers were employed as 0.74 (micro-fiber), 1.4, 4.4, and 56 dtex. Several tactile adjectives effective to express tactile sensation were selected by means of factor analysis for questionnaire data. The tactile adjectives selected were related to feeling and sense to heat and moisture. The evaluation data for tactile sensation of fabrics were analyzed by paired comparison method using the selected adjectives. It is stressed that the correspondence of tactile sensation to physical properties of the fabrics was observed for fiber fineness of about ldtex or more. It has been further clarified tin the present work that the micro fiber fabric shows a specific tactile sensation compared with normal fiber fabric.
