Among the Asian countries to where Japan moved its production bases, especially China achieved rapid development and even became to be called “The World’s Factory”. China is at present focusing on the

economic development of an area along the New Silk Road, and is putting its strength into building up the transport and industrial infrastructure in this region.

As this economic development form, I have chosen the automotive industry as my subject. I believe China built the production system with the Central Asian Countries, and that Japan can contribute to support them by providing the high-level technology cultivated till today. I surveyed the previous researches, and I found various issues to be resolved. I studied these issues and propose appropriate measures in this paper.

In Japan, finding a candidate site suitable for safe and reliable disposal of high-level radioactive waste

(HLW) has long been a significant challenge due to people’s antagonistic attitude, which is often referred to as the “Not In My BackYard (NIMBY) syndrome”. In January 2007, Toyo Town in Kochi Prefecture applied for a literature survey, which comprised the first stage of the siting process for a final disposal site for HLW, as provided in the Designated Radioactive Waste Final Disposal Act. However, the municipality experienced serious dispute among the citizens over the Toyo Town Mayor’s decision, and subsequent to the mayoral election in April 2007, the newly elected mayor immediately withdrew the application for the literature survey. In October 2020, Suttsu Town in Hokkaido Prefecture applied for a literature survey, and in November 2020, the survey started in the municipality. However, Town council members and citizens opposing the survey launched campaigns against the HLW repository siting process and the Suttsu Town Mayor’s decision. Based on comparative analysis of these cases in the respective municipalities from the viewpoint of procedural fairness, this paper discusses the factors causing the disputes and opposition, and highlights the importance of engaging stakeholders in building societal consensus before making political decisions.

At the beginning of the year, Japanese people have an event to worship at shrines and temples called the “Hatumoude”. At the first visit, we give thanks for the year and pray for the safety and peace of the new year. One of the actions to be taken at the time of this first visit is the action of "throwing" money.

This act is seen not only at the time of the first visit but also when asking God or Buddha to grant some wish.

It can be inferred that the so-called offering is not compulsory and is one of the voluntary actions of each individual. Where does this motive come from? Why do people throw money in front of the money box?

The "learning community" advocated by Manabu Sato is a school reform, consisting of a vision, philosophy, and activity system.

This time, one senior nurse instructed four new nurses, and considering the way of thinking and activity system of the "learning community", it was found that it was insufficient outside the public nature. But other philosophies such as democracy and excellence were fine.

Japan was ranked 54th in 2022, 56th in 2021, and 62nd in 2020 in the happiness ranking published on 18

March 2022. The WHO-5 Mental Health Status Table was proposed in 1998, as a scale to measure wellbeing; the 2002 PERMA model (Seligman et al.) and the 2021 SPIRE model (Ben-Shahar et al.) were published and used for health residents and employees. Meanwhile, the Japanese version of the Mental Health Continuum Short Form (Keyes et al.) was developed to assess the positive aspects of mental health in a multidimensional way in a medical model. The evolution of the above happiness scores and the priorities that make up happiness (family, friends, health, hobbies, community, food, home, work, pets, music, holidays, and watching sports teams), as well as the differences in values between Japan and the US with regard to these factors, are discussed in this paper.
