When Nb-doped TiO2 thin film was annealed in reduction condition, the film become a conductor. But the sheet resistance of this thin film depends on the preparing condition of this thin film. In this study, Structure analysis of Nb-doped TiO2 thin film was conducted by using Ti K-edge XANES measurement. The spectrum of Nb-doped TiO2 thin film which shows large sheet resistance is similar to the spectrum of commercial TiO2 powder. On the other hand, the spectrum of Nb-doped titanium oxide thin film which shows small sheet resistance is different from the spectrum of commercial TiO2 powder. And this result indicates that this film contains the oxygen defects.

The ceramics of thick-dielectric films were made with using barium titanate (BaTiO3) has high permittivity material. Powder inorganic EL devices in which ZnS:Cu,Cl and thick-dielectric films were used as a emission layer and insulating layer was also fabricated. EL devices were evaluated with the properties of thick-dielectric films. As a result of the evaluation, the relative permittivity of the thick-dielectric films were 6500. The optical properties and the luminous efficacy of the EL device driven at 200 V sinusoidal voltage of 1 kHz improved by 204 % and 120 %, respectively compared with conventional powder EL device.

We report on structural, dielectric, magnetic and Raman data of the title compounds. Analysis of the single crystal diffraction data reveals that the ground state can be characterized within the Cm space group. The Ba4MTa10O30 compounds show typical features of incipient ferroelectrics, i.e., their dielectric constant gradually increases on cooling and levels off or slightly decreases below 10K. Nb solubility limit, x, for Ba4MNbxTa10−xO30 compositions equilibrated at 1450?1600 oC was determined. Substitution of Nb for Ta leads to the low-temperature dielectric anomaly having a relaxor-type signature. The Co- and Ni-based compounds show paramagnetic behavior in the 2?300 K.

We have attempted to regenerate tooth enamel artificially by using flexible hydroxyapatite (HAp) sheets. The sheets are affixed onto polished surface of extracted teeth with calcium phosphate solution. The time-dependent variation of the composition at the interfaces between the HAp sheets and the teeth surfaces was evaluated by an X-ray diffraction (XRD) method. After one week past, the XRD pattern completely matched with that of teeth enamel. The adherence between HAp sheet and teeth enamel was evaluated by tensile test using a stainless rod with a diameter of 3 mm glued onto the HAp sheet. The test validated that the adherence between HAp sheet and tooth enamel is much stronger than 3.4 MPa in affixing post-21 days.

To increase the electrical conductivity, carbon was coated on the surface of LVP. The samples were analyzed by TGA, XRD, and FE-SEM. CR 2032 coin cells were assembled for the electrochemical test. Maccor series 4000 was used to test the cyclic performance of the coin cell.

Textile industries have produced wastewater in the large amount. Most of textile industries will generate sludge as a byproduct. Many of sludge are disposed in landfill area, which may cause groundwater contamination due to the containing of hazardous and toxic material. Recently processing and sludge treatment that is creating valuable product and environmental friendly is good trend in solid waste management. One possibility of the sludge utilization is a raw material for construction and building material. The objection of this research is to investigate the possibility of textile waste sludge as the clay alternate for brick production. Mixing natural clay and textile waste sludge with various proportions will be discussed in this research. Comprehensive strength and water absorption will be analyzed as the parameter of quality testing of brick specimen.
