【Objective】 To clarify the efforts and problems of “individual functional training addition II” targeted at daily practices at an elderly daycare facility, and make it a basic material for countermeasures for effective implementation of individual function training. 【Methods】 We interviewed functional training instructors in charge of “individual functional training addition II” at an elderly daycare facility and analyzed the interviews according to a qualitative integration method (KJ method). 【Results】 The focus of efforts in “individual functional training addition II” is to provide [training according to daily life], with the intent of the effect of “individual functional training addition II” leading a fulfilling life. This is supported by [an understanding of users’ needs], but [difficulty of setting goals] was raised as one challenge and practice of multi-occupational collaboration was [necessary for a program to be effective]. Further, [procedures and practice on training plan of “individual functional training addition II” ] [present conditions and the challenges of education and training] were presented. 【Conclusion】 We used a trial-and-error method to test the working of the “individual functional training addition II”, clarified actions and problems of the function training instructor toward improvement of users' life tasks, and presented measures.
