One of formal roots in scientific communication is the citation of journal article, and this influence is elucidated by citation analysis. The paper clarifies the meaning of citation, and considers the role of citation analysis.

The satisfaction theory (henceforth, ST), which was originally proposed by Heim (1983) and has been adopted by many researchers on presuppositions (Chierchia & McConnell-Ginet, 2000; Beaver, 2001; Kadmon, 2001), is one of the most successful theories of presuppositions. In this paper, I will offer a new counterargument against ST: there are cases where ST cannot handle presuppositions triggered in apdoses of counterfactuals. As far as I am aware, no attempts in ST have been made to solve the problem raised in this paper. This paper is organized as follows. In the next section, I will outline how ST treats presuppositions. Section 3 will give a counterargument against ST. Section 4 will summarize the result obtained in this paper.

Carrie (1952), directed by William Wyler, is a film based on Theodore Dreiser's first novel Sister Carrie (1900). A Place in the Sun (1951), whose director is George Stevens, is adapted from his most famous novel An American Tragedy (1925). This paper considers how Dreiser's original works are treated in those films, while referring to some differences between his original works and the film adaptations.

In this Paper, I will point out that the current teaching contents and methods with respect to 'school grammar' in junior high schools face some challenges in lighit of " A New Course of Study for Junior High Schools", and provide a new solution to those challenges. A case study is then made on usage-based research that interests students more.

The tendency to the consideration of the guardian concerning child abuse is understood, analyzed by executing the attitude survey concerning child abuse in the Kumamoto city where I am residing now for the guardian at the day nursery, the kindergarten, the elementary school, and the junior high school, and it is assumed a help for the child abuse prevention in the future.

I participated in document collection and example investigation as a cooperation researcher of scientific research funds in August, 2008. The 12 illustrated books of The Tale of Utsuho were produced in the early days of Edo period. They are Enpo edition, a Manji edition, and 10 Nara ehons. Enpo edition has all 20 volumes, but the others have only Toshikage volume. It was examined whether a composition and an insertion point of the picture matched contents of each text. In conclusion, in Enpo edition the composition and the insertion point of the picture completely matched contents of each text. However, in the others did not. Therefore, Enpo edition is valuable to the study of the illustrated book.

In this paper, the motive behind Akana's hara-kiri is discussed. This paper aruges that it is not just to keep the promise to reunite with Samon, but to help Samon to go out into the real world and force him to make a decision to be independent in the true sense of the term. Rather, it was help Samon go out into the world and force him to make a decision to be independent in the true sense of the term. It was also a way to make Samon practice unshakable filial piety. And by doing these things Samon's mother-in-law's wishes could be fulfilled.
