We report the records of the recent 20 years of the Whiskered Tern Chlidonias hybrida in the Kochi Plain, Japan. Fouty-one observations were recorded from 1999 to 2018. The peak of the spring migration was late May, and the autumn migration was continued from early August to late October. We examined the tendency of this species by the rearranging of the observation records for the past 20 years, but the tendency of increase or the decrease was not confirmed. We regard this species as a passage visitor observed approximately every year in the Kochi Plain.

A specimen of lesser Japanese mole (Mogera imaizumii ) was collected from the valley of Shikoku Mountains, Kami-shi, Kochi Prefecture, Japan (33°45′47.0″ 133°53′26.8″, altitude: 450 m). The measured body size of the specimen was smaller than that reported previously for M. imaizumii in Japan except for Shikoku. However, the value was similar to the measured value in other reports and those for specimens collected from Shikoku. The measured values of the skull were close to those reported for specimens collected from Shikoku. The degree of projection of incisor row was similar to that reported previously for M. imaizumii collected from Shodoshima Island.

In this study, determination of the distribution of the crested myna (Acridotheres cristatellus), an introduced bird species in Japan, was attempted in Shikoku district. Observations of the crested myna were collected through interviews, documents, and several web-based search engines. Currently, there is no information indicating naturalization of this species outside Kagawa Prefecture. In the 2000s, the distribution of the crested myna expanded to the central and western regions of the prefecture. Since 2010, the species has been expanding to the eastern region. There are only two records of crested myna sightings in Ehime Prefecture and no records in Tokushima Prefecture. Additionally, there is no information of certain habitation in Kochi Prefecture.
