The author has developed the tension device of an air-jet system. This device is an air-frictional type. He has investigated the relations between the air-jet pressure and the degree of applied tension by using the cotton yarn of 42/2's in count. The main results are as follows :
1. The higher the air-jet pressure, the much greater the applied tension.
2. The device has a little tolerence in tension control : The higher the frequency, the little more tolerant the tension control.
3. The desired tension of the many devices can be controlled by adjusting the pressure of an air-jet nozzle of the main pressure control regulator. Therefore, the concentration control of a tension is possible. This is the merit of this device.
4. The higher the air-jet pressure, the more the mechanical noise. This is the demerit.
