The theme of this symposium was to discuss my book, Philosophy from the Japanese Language. I first gave an overview of the issues presented in the book. Then, both Mr. Suzuki and Mr. Takeda developed the arguments from their respective standpoints. In this paper, similarly, I would like to explain the basic arguments of Philosophy from Japanese Language and then comment on the issues raised by Mr. Suzuki and Mr. Takeda. As a result, the focus of the discussion on the nature of alterity and the significance of code-sharing in interpersonal communication will emerge.
