    Automation has recently extensively developed in bridge fabrication. In the case of girders of box-section, only the panels composing them are fabricated in assembly lines with robots. The automatic welding has, however, not been Fully utilized for formation of box section, because it is difficult to manipulate the welding machines inside, their interior structures are complicated, and the feasibility of use of the automatic welding has been regarded to be too low. Instead, manual welding has generally been used for this purpose, but welders are obliged to work under very adverse circumstances in this case. In this paper, when the panels composing girders of boxsection are fabricated in assembly lines with robots, the author proposes a method using robots for welding in the interior of box-girders by which diaphragm and cross rib details are improved. Especially cross rib details are discussed though stress analysis using finite element method.

    In the past, we had investigated the number of 1412 steel on the basis of the mill sheet in order to clarify these steel quality, and these steel of mechanical properties, impact property and chemical compositions had been shown[1][2]. We also had discussed the relationship between mechanical properties(tensile strength, yield strength) and chemical compositions[3]. However, in these papers, the relationship between impact property and chemical compositions had not been discussed. In this paper, we investigated the relationship between impact property(Charpy absorbed energy) and chemical compositions(Carbon, Silicon, Manganese, Phosphorus and Sulfur) including PcM(Cracking Parameter of Material) and Ceq(Carbon equivalent), and these results were shown.

    Hot dip metal plating is considered to be effective for increasing corrosion resistance in steel structures. The planting makes possible to reduce the residual stress in the welded portion due to annealing effect, and stress concentration at the weld toe is reduced by the plating if a part of stress is transmitted in the aluminum layer. Therefore, it is considered that fatigue strength can be improved by hot dip aluminum coating. These facts mean that the hot dip aluminum coating is one of useful countermeasure against the fatigue and corrosion, which are regarded as weaknesses of steel structures. However, it has not been clear how the planting influences the fatigue strength of a welded joint. This study aims at clarifying fatigue strength of welded joints coated with aluminum. For this purpose, out-of-plane gusset welded joints specimens were made of SM400 and were plated on two conditions of hot dip aluminum coating, then fatigue tests were carried out on these specimens. Furthermore, microstructures on the plating layer and fatigue crack origin were closely observed.

    Recently, the discussion on prolonging life of steel bridges such as life cycle cost and long life bridge is widely done, and main factors of the prolonging life are countermeasures against fatigue and corrosion. As a countermeasure against corrosion, galvanizing is one of the effective methods, and many galvanizing steel bridges have been constructed until now. It is also considered that residual stress of welded portion is reduced by the annealing effect due to immersing welded member into hot dip galvanizing tank of about 450°C and the stress concentration at the weld toe as an origin of fatigue crack is reduced if a part of stress is transmitted in the galvanizing layer. These are correspondent to the two methods for increasing the fatigue strength. However, the effect of the galvanizing on the fatigue strength of welded joints has not been made clear sufficiently at the present. This study aims at investigating fatigue strength of welded joint with galvanizing. For this purpose, fatigue tests have been carried out on out-of-plane gusset welded joints which are made of 3 kinds of steel and are galvanized in several conditions. Residual stress measurements and three-dimensional finite element stress analyses for them are also carried out.

    Galvanizing is one of the effective corrosions protection methods, and many galvanizing steel bridges have been constructed until now. It is also considered that residual stress of welded portion is reduced by the annealing effect due to immersing welded member into hot dip galvanizing tank of about 450°C. The stress concentration at the weld toe as an origin of fatigue crack is reduced if a part of stress is transmitted in the galvanizing layer. Authors already confined facts that tensile residual stress of the welded portion was significantly relieved by immersing in galvanizing tank. It was also recognized by finite element analysis that stress concentration factor at steel was reduced by galvanizing layer. However, the fatigue strength of the galvanized joints became low compared with the as-welded joints. As the reason why the fatigue strength lowers, it was considered that the fatigue crack initiates in an early stage from the discontinuity at the alloy layer or rough boundary of galvanizing layer and steel. This study aims at clarifying fatigue strength of welded joints by galvanizing at Report 1. For this purpose, web-gusset welded joints and scallop details that have especially low fatigue strength in the joint used for steel bridges and are worried about occurrence of fatigue cracks are taken up, and the large-scale girder specimens were made of SM490YB and were galvanized under standard condition of hot dip galvanizing, then fatigue tests were carried out on these specimens. Furthermore, microstructures on the alloy layer between zinc and steel or welds have been observed and fatigue cracks origin has been closely examined.

    本研究は、溶融アルミニウムめっきを施した溶接継手の疲労強度を調べることを目的として、面外ガセット溶接継手を製作し、溶接のままの試験体と2つのめっき条件でアルミニウムめっきを施した試験体を用いて疲労試験を実施した。また、めっき作業による焼鈍効果を調べるため、残留応力計測を行った。

     50mmを超える厚板鋼板に高力ボルト摩擦接合継手を適用する場合,M22を用いれば長尺ボルトとなる.これを避けるためには,太径ボルトを用いることが考えられる.本研究では,板厚50mmの鋼板を対象とした高力ボルト摩擦接合継手に太径ボルト(M36)および従来のボルト(M22)を用いた場合のリラクセーションとすべり耐力について,実験的に検討した.また,比較のために板厚19mmにM22ボルトを用いた標準的な高力ボルト摩擦継手試験体も試験に供した.そして,厚板の方がリラクセーションによるボルト軸力の低下は小さいこと,また,すべり耐力は太径ボルトと標準的な継手試験体を比較して特に低くなることはない,という結果を得た.

    鋼橋の製作において, 製作の合理化に関する考え方の一つとして, 「補剛材の低減=製作の合理化」という考え方が定着しているが, 補剛材を手溶接で取り付けていた時代は妥当な考え方であった. しかし, 今日では, 垂直・水平補剛材の取り付けは, NCロボットで行われている. このため, ロボットによるパネル製作工程を明確にした上で, 合理化を検討しない限り, 補剛材の低減による製作の合理化効果を定量的に評価することはできない. 本論では, まずパネル製作工程を説明し, 次に, パネル製作ロボットを延べ9日間にわたり監視・計測して, 各作業工程に必要な時間を明示した. そして, 補剛材の低減が製作の合理化に及ぼす効果の定量的な評価手法を提案し, 最後に, パネル製作における合理的な生産計画法を示した.

    道路橋示方書では,y形割れ試験の試験結果で予熱温度を算定しているので,すみ肉溶接でこれを適用した場合,過剰な予熱条件となる.本研究は,すみ肉溶接の予熱条件を提案することを目的に,予熱温度,溶接サイズ,Pcmおよび拡散性水素量をパラメータとし,すみ肉溶接割れ試験を実施した.

    Design engineer must be attentive to structural landscape on the repair work of bridge. The purpose of this study is proposal for the new method of structural landscape design on the repair work of bridge. This method was made use of the change order of fractal dimension, that we calculated at fractal dimension on before and after the repair work of bridge. Generally reported, the fractal dimension was calculated by the software of image processor. However, we used only digital image and spreadsheet software. This paper was reported about that we applied in this method on existing highway bridge. We reported about influence on structure landscape of repair work on exsiting highway bridge.

    In recent years, it has been discussing about reducing cost and labor in bridge fabrication. These are the most important subjects at present. As the way of reducing this cost, automatic welding or high-efficiency welding will be used increasingly. Automation has recently extensively developed in many factories, however, it is only few case using highefficiency welding. For this reason, Specifications for Highway Bridge regulates limited-heatinput( maximum heat input is 70KJ/cm on SM570). In this paper, based on many technical reports which is reported so far, it is investigated charpy absorbed energy by using high-heatinput welding. From the results of this investigation, the authors propose limited-heat-input. Finally, application of high-heat-input welding is described in steel bridge fabrication.

    Recently, the quality of steel has been remarkably improved, and high performance steel for bridge has also been developed. However, when it comes to how much, it has not been clarified. In this paper, first, we investigated the number of 1412 steel on the basis of the mill sheet in order to clarify their quality. Investigated items were tensile strength, yield strength, charpyabsorbed-energy, PcM(cracking parameter of material) and Ceq(carbon equivalent), and these steel mechanical properties were shown. Then, we also showed the degree of improvement in the quality, comparing with the data 30 years ago.

    According to the specification for Highway Bridges, the minimum weld size is determined so that the leg length, S, satisfies the condition of S>=√2t, where t is the thickness of a plate. However, when the thickness exceeds 40mm this standard requires the S value larger than the maximum of one pass welding, which could lead to the decrease of the welding execution efficiency. Why this standard regulates the weld size is to avoid cold cracking by escaping the rapid cooling. But escaping the rapid cooling is not the only method to avoid cold cracking. In this study, we examine the cold cracking susceptibility and the HAZ hardness distributions of the fillet welds using 50mm thick plates whose PCM ranges from 0.21% to 0.27%. We also carry out the heat conduction analysis to evaluate the effect of the test piece size. Using the present results, we discuss the validity of the today's standard of the √2t regulation.

In the case of girders of box-section, only the panels composing them are fabricated in assembly lines with robots. The automatic welding has, however, not been fully utilized for formation of box section, because it is difficult to manipulate the welding machines inside, their interior structures are complicated, and the feasibility of use of the automatic welding has been regarded to be too low. Instead, manual welding has generally been used for this purpose, but welders are obliged to work under very adverse circumstances in this case. In this paper the authors propose a method using robots for welding in the interior of box-girders, for which simulation by 3-D/CAD is conducted and also various suggestions related to the assembly lines equipped with robots are presented.

In this paper, it is investigated Vickes hardness and tensile strength to examine the effect of softening. From the results of their investigations, the authors propose limited heat input considering both embrittlement and softening.
