Assistive instruments such as slopes and textured paving blocks are installed for helping elderly, visually and/or physically impaired people, who have any inconvenience to move outside. Though these precipitous situations of accessibility progress affect their migration pathway for their destination, up-to-date accessibility information is difficult to gain quickly because of local information disclosure. It is necessary to develop a comprehensive system which appropriately acquires and arranges scattered accessibility information and then presents the information intuitively. Thus, our final goal is to develop a social platform which can obtain and present the information depending on users' conditions and situations including users' disorders and places, and can share the information provided by users. Particularly in this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of shared information obtained by assessment and crowdsourcing for improving quality and quantity of accessibility information. Results indicated that different tendency of character counts among accessibility conditions was observed in the assessment and the crowdsourcing conditions.

Because of the conceptual problems of “no awareness,” “no knowledge,” and “no will,” there are very few acts of kindness in Japan. Although this is based on culture, where interfering with others can be rude, vulnerable people in society, such as the elderly, people accompanied by children, and challenged people hesitate to go out because of the lack of sufficient hospitality they are given. We focused on this problem and developed a smartphone application to change peoples’ mind and actions. Its three specific functions are: 1. matching people who need help with those who are available to help in person, 2. teaching people about barriers for vulnerable people and what they are troubled with, and 3. optimizing the performance social actions by recording actions and awarding points in the app. Through several pilot programs, we have gained studies and evidence that people noticed and changed their mind about helping others and practically changed their actions with this app. Realizing an inclusive society cannot be created only by municipalities and companies—citizens are crucial. We will keep trying to realize a sustainable and inclusive society in Japan with this platform, with which citizens can participate.
