This paper reports on some of the results of the project, “Development of a Model Organization and Curriculum as a Basis for ESD Practice,” commissioned by the MinistryofEducation,Culture,Sports,ScienceandTechnology(MEXT).Ourgoalis to create a framework that will allow teachers to work on actual educational/school reforms as their own issues while enhancing their own expertise. The activities for FY2020 were as follows:(1)having study sessions inviting resource persons,(2) discussing the effects and challenges of the logic model in educational policy and school education with boards of education,(3)having a meeting between the Kawanehoncho Town Board of Education(KTBE), Nanto City Board of Education(NCBE), and our research group, named “A framework study group that links public schools to holistic reform through the intrinsic teacher practice of ESD(ESD HoRIP), to share the current situation, challenges, and future prospects,(4)organizing some workshops for creating the logic model with the KTBE and the NCBE, and(5)having a symposium to share the result and challenges. From this perspective, in FY2021, we are planning to conduct observation and interview
research based on the ETA model in the Nanto City. In addition, for the KTBE and schools, we plan to support the creation of a logic model that reflects teachers` opinions and hold workshops and training sessions to encourage teachers` systems thinking.
