    多くのスポーツアスリートは身長が高いという事実はあるが,それは高身長という要素がスポーツに適しているのであって,スポーツ選手だから高身長なのではない.このようなスポーツ選手に対する認識のズレがスポーツタレント発掘に対する誤解として存在しているのではないだろうか.そこで,本研究は,このような誤解を精査する意味から,高身長と身体能力ついて言及し,この結論から派生する高身長と高収入,高学歴の議論から裕福な環境におけることがスポーツアスリートの成功へと繋がる経緯を論議する.そして,高身長のトラッキング現象を検証することで,スポーツタレントの要素を発掘するには,運動能力の優秀さに加えて高身長を独立的に追加することが重要であり,ジュニア期において運動能力の優れた者の中から高身長を選択するシステムの確立を提唱するものである.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate technical factors in floater shot, which is a new and an advanced basketball skill, by comparison between an expert (n=1) and a novice (n=1) in Japanese basketball player. Each subject had executed floater shots against a defense until 10 successful floater shots were completed. Nine trials of running jump on left foot, the most emerging pattern from the subjects, were assessed by a three-dimensional motion analysis system. By comparison between the expert and the novice player, the expert player demonstrated 1) significantly longer time catching the ball to jumping, 2) significantly shorter travel distance of center of gravity in a phase between taking off the ground and landing 3) a posture that expert playersʼ shoulder was consistently parallel on the hip in the horizontal plane, and 4) higher reproducibility in the upper body kinematics during a phase between taking off the ground and releasing the ball.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the skilled process related to the qualitative change by the movement form of dribble shoot by non-dominant hand in 23 female subjects who were from the third grade to the sixth grade in an elementary school. We also aimed to obtain some suggestion of adaptable instruction of the shooting skill.

        The main results may be summarized as follows:

       1) A certain close relationship was found between the number of experienced month and the score of form. In addition, it was found that the starting time of instruction of dribble shoot by non-dominant hand is effective to start the same time of instruction of dominant hand.

       2) The difference between the skilled process of dribble shoot by dominant and non-dominant hand was appeared by the keep phase. According the develpomental tendency of qualitative change in dribble shoot movement by non-dominant hand was depended on the keep phase.

       3) The skilled process of dribble shoot by non-dominant hand was found to develop step by step through the 6 stages from the state of beginners to that of the skilled performers and to appear the one-handed shoot if the performer was enabled to step the stride pattern from non-dominant foot to dominant foot in the keep phase.

       4) When instructing the dribble shoot by non-dominant hand, it should be instructed through the following processes: to step the stride pattern from non-dominant foot to dominant foot, then to lift the opposite foot of takeoff foot and carry the ball up with one hand, finally to release the ball softly and jump still higher.

        Focusing on the pick play screener which is often used in basketball tournaments and tactics, this study specifically aims at claritying the motion of the screenner in the preparation phase.
        To achieve the purpose, statistical analysis was conducted for teams that advanced to the semi-final of World Cup hosted by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in 2006, 2010 and 2014. Statistical analysis was conducted for 8 games (4 games in the quarterfinals, 2 games in the semi-finals, 2 games in the final and 3rd-place match) in each tournament, therefore a total number of 24 games were analyzed.
        The following result: The ratio of pick plays used during games increased as each tournament was held. It also turns out that the simple preparation phase of the motion such as run or walk before screen the user instead of screening or faking is effective.

    The 2011 Great Eastern Japan Earthquake had a significant effect on the lifestyle of the Japanese adolescents. It can be speculated that, in particular, physical activities of victims in the submerged coastal areas have reduced. The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to compare the amount of physical activity half a year later from the Earthquake among middle school students in Onagawa (n=187), Higashi-Matsushima (n=374), and Aomori (n=399). The percentage ratio of decrease in population because of death in the Earthquake was 10%, 3%, and 0% in Onagawa, Higashi-Matsushima, and Aomori, respectively.Total of 960 students (aged 12-15 years) reported their personal and demographic characteristics and physical activities toward the end of July and October 2011. The physical activities were measured by the Health Behavior in School-Aged Children (HBSC) survey, and the time spent in a sedentary state (TS) during weekdays and weekends was reported. The results of Pearsonʼs chi-square test revealed that there was no significant difference in the ratio of activity measured by HBSC survey. However, one-way ANOVA revealed that there were significant differences in the TS during weekdays (P<0.001) and weekends (P<0.001). In a post-hoc test, the students of Onagawa demonstrated higher TS during weekdays (634±296min/day) and weekends (650±276 min/day) compared with the students of Higashi-Matsushima (weekdays,553±249 min/day ; weekends, 591±264 min/day) and Aomori (weekdays, 459±304 min/day ; weekends,552±305 min/day). Compared with students of Aomori, those of Higashi-Matsushima had higher TS during weekdays only. Our findings indicate that TS during weekdays and weekends by adolescents in damaged areas such as Onagawa and Higashi-Matsushima possibly increased as a consequence of the 2011 Great Eastern Japan Earthquake.

     In recent years, the “running movement” in basketball has been taught from a technical standpoint in some instances. However, in basketball instruction manuals, terms such as “skill” and “technique” are used to describe rational body movements like dribbling, passing, and shooting with the ball, but not running movements. In the field of sports kinetics, the running movement in ball games has traditionally been viewed as an “adjusting running form,” but this has not been developed as a technical theory and case studies focusing on athletes’ kinesthetic perceptions. This study seeks to develop a technical theory for running movements in basketball by examining this specific skill nature in basketball performance, technical categories of morphology in basketball games, and the direction and progression of skill training from the perspective of the kinetic horizon structures. Results reveal that the skillful nature of the running was captured by the dual meanings and values of “performative technique” accompanied by tactical intent and “mediative movement” aimed at the demonstration of fundamental motor skills. Morphologies were broadly categorized into eight distinct forms, organized under two primary classifications. Specifically, it were classified into two categories: running movements with and without ball possession. Moreover, each category was further subdivided into four morphologies (sprint form, combination form of sprint and change-of-direction, turn form, and jogging form). In technical training, it was made clear that attention must be paid to the player’s kinetic horizon structure , to the reversibility of intentionality, and to posture and coordination of limbs as the knack. Additionally, this study suggests that accumulating case studies focused on the kinesthetic aspects of running skills during training could enhance the efficiency of skill coaching.

    The purpose of this study was to compare physical activity in fifth-grade primary school children using a questionnaire and an accelerometer. A total of 34 participants (15 boys and 19 girls) aged 10–11 years participated in this study. A questionnaire and an accelerometer were used to assess and exercise time and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), respectively. Participants were classified into two groups, i.e., meeting ≥60 min/day MVPA group and non-meeting MVPA ≥60 min/day MVPA group, based on the results of questionnaire assessment and MVPA was compared. Except for all children and girls on weekdays, the exercise time assessed by the questionnaire was significantly different from the MVPA measured by the accelerometer. There were significant differences in MVPA between the meeting ≥60 min/day MVPA group and non-meeting MVPA ≥60 min/day MVPA group on weekends in all children and on weekdays and all-days in boys. Agreement between physical activity guideline meeting and non-meeting, as assessed by questionnaire and accelerometer, showed significant agreement only for all children in weekends (φ=0.35, p<0.05). In conclusion, our study suggested that it is not appropriate to use the exercise time assessed by the questionnaire and MVPA assessed by the accelerometer as equivalent measures of activity for fifth-grade students.

    The primary aim of this study was to examine moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) levels in preschool children during indoor and outdoor free playing time and during preschool physical education (PE) classes. The secondary aim was to determine which types of PE lessons are the best for increasing the percentage of MVPA. Physical activity during free playing time and in lessons was objectively evaluated with a triaxial accelerometer in preschool boys and girls (n = 281). Minutes of physical activity were categorized into physical activity ratios (PAR). MVPA was defined as PAR ≥3.0. Time tables and PE lesson types were recorded using logs kept by class teachers. The percentage of MVPA in outdoor free playing time (38.9±16.3%) was significantly higher than that of indoor free playing time (12.6±10.1%, p<0.001). On the other hand, there was no significant difference between the percentage in MVPA in outdoor free playing time and the percentage in PE lessons (n=94: 38.0±19.4%vs. 34.9±15.8%, ns). After adjustment for gender, age, body height and weight and preschool, there were not significantly different the percentage of MVPA among contents of PE lessons. In conclusion, children engaged in almost 30~40% MVPA during outdoor free playing time or PE. The children also engaged MVPA during indoor free playing time.

    監督やコーチは,多くの主観的な情報を総合したイメージを用い,選手起用を行っている.そこで本研究では,選手の主観的特徴からイメージ因子を抽出し,他の因子との組み合わせから選手の類型化を行った.さらに,スタッツなどの客観的なデータによる類型化との比較も行った.評価者は,JBA 公認コーチライセンスを保持する指導者67 名で,認知度が高いB.LEAGUE(B1) でプレイする12 名の選手を対象とした.評価者には,対象選手について35 項目からなる主観的な特徴に関するアンケート調査に5 件方式で回答してもらった.結果,エキスパートのイメージによる類型化によって,4 因子が抽出され,オフェンスを中心とした因子について類型化を行なったところ,5 つの群に分類された.さらに,主観的なイメージによる選手の類型化では「ポジション」「ディフェンシブかオフェンシブか」「身体能力」の3 つの要因が影響していることが示された.最後に,客観的なデータによる分類では,主観的な分類と比較して「ポジション」や「身体能力」などに類似と相違が見られた.つまり,エキスパートは,オフェンスによるイメージをより詳細に持っていると考えられた.

    The purpose of this study was to clarify the present state of physical activity and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in adolescents living in regions affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and to examinethe relationship between physical activity and HRQoL in adolescents living in different regions affected by the disaster. The participants were 573 aged 11-13 in East Matsushima city (where housing damage affected10% of participants:low damage group) and in Onagawa town (where housing damage affected 60% of participants:high damage group) . The survey was performed in September, 2011. Survey items included sports club activity, time spent on physical activity, and HRQoL (the 23-item Pediatric QoL Inventory Version 4.0 Generic Core Scales) . The results of a chi-square test showed that there were no significant differences in the rate of time spent category (<60 min / wk, 60-420 min / wk, and 420 min / wk C ) between the low damage group and the high damage group. However, the rate of <60 min/wkin both groups showed higher percentages than in the general adolescents. There was a high correlation between the rate of time spent category and sports club activity (belong or not) in the high damage group. The results of an unpaired t-test for each damage group showed a significant difference in an emotional functioning score between those who belong to sports club and those who do not belong to a sports club only in the high damage groups. These findings might suggest the following:1) the physical activity level of adolescents living in disaster areas tends to be low regardless of the damage situation, 2) the relation between sport club activity in school and physical activity level in the high damage group is stronger than the low damage group, 3) sports club activity affects an emotional context positively only in the high damage group.

    A questionnaire survey was conducted to assess the physical activity, health-related QOL and depression of junior high school students. The subjects were 1,332 students from 5 public junior high schools in a certain city;valid responses were obtained from 1,289 students. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used for assessing physical activity, the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQLTM) for health-related quality of life (QOL), and the Depression Self-Rating Scale for Children (DSRS-C) for depression tendency. With regard to physical activity between males and females and among different grades, there was a significant difference in the amount of vigorous-intensity activity (in terms of days, hours, and total activity time of 1 week). However, no significant difference was observed in walking. In the different age groups, the difference was observed in moderate-intensity activity (time, total activity time of 1 week) and energy expenditure. No significant difference was observed between males and females in holiday time is sitting activity was not observed in the grades. With regard to health-related QOL, a significant difference was observed between male and female students in the emotional function. The percentage calculated for each grade revealed that the female students showed higher depression tendency than the male students and that the number of students exceeding the cut-off score, which was determined to indicate depression tendency, increased as they advanced to the next grade. While the score maintained around 30% from the 1st year to 3rd year in the female students, it showed about 30% only in the 3rd year in the male students. Furthermore, one in three male and female 3rd year junior high school students was determined to have depression tendency. Therefore, it is necessary to reconsider the current cut-off score when using it to assess junior high school students.

    The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of the Rohrer index and physical activity on motor function. The subjects were 143 elementary school children in the 5th and 6th grades. Motor function was measured based on musculoskeletal examination. The Rohrer index was calculated from height and weight, and ≥140 was defined as a tendency to be overweight. Physical activity was investigated using a self-reported questionnaire, the WHO Health Behaviour in School-aged Children in Japanese version (HBSC-J). A total of 130 students and their parents agreed to participate in this study, and the data of 127 students were analyzed. The main results were as follows: 26 students had a Rohrer index ≥140, and 60 students (47.2%) had abnormalities in one or more items of motor function. In particular, there were many who reported “Impossible to fully squat” and “Limitation of standing forward flexion”. When compared by sex, “Impossible to fully squat”, “Limitation of standing forward flexion”, and “Pain in shoulder” were particularly frequent in boys. The Rohrer index was particularly high in those who reported that it was “Impossible to fully squat”, but it was not associated with HBSC-J. “Impossible to fully squat” was particularly low in HBSC-J (days of Moderate to vigorous Physical Activity and frequency of Vigorous Physical Activity). The results suggested that children of impossible to fully squat is a lot of low activity and obesity. In conclusion, children who are unable to squat should be followed up to promote physical activity and improve obesity.

    Recently, there is anticipation for delayed or distorted higher nervous activity of the Japanese children. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the higher nervous activity of recent children by using the go/no-go task. Additionally, the purpose was to examine living factors related to higher nervous activity. Subjects were 1,585 healthy children who were from 1st to 6th graders in elementary schools. The all investigations were carried out in quiet classroom at respective school from September to December 2013. For this study, we used the “go/no-go task” that was devised by Luria, A. R. The false reaction number and the type of the higher nervous activity against go/no-go tasks were used by analysis in this study. The type of each subject was classified into five (melancholic, choleric, inhibitory, phlegmatic and sanguine type) as regard the higher nervous activity based on Pavlov, I. P. theory. On the other hand, the items of questionnaire about living conditions consisted of after-school situations, sleep conditions and morning physical activities in school. The results were as follows:1) Subjects for this study were the elementary school children who had a short electronic media time, and a long physical activity time. 2) In the examination of the false reaction number and the typologies of higher nervous activity by go/no-go task, it was shown that the grade change was not different in boys and girls, that there was more number of the false reactions in no-go task and no task of boys than girls, that all the false reactions decrease with grade progress, and that the incidence of “Melancholic type” which was the most childish was high value. 3) In the multiple logistic regression of the relation between types of the higher nervous activity and living conditions, it was confirmed that the morning physical activity in school had a good influence on the higher nervous activity of the child. These results suggest that creating, validating the evidence and accumulating the practice in morning physical activities at school are the future subjects.
