    スプリンクラー重複配置では均等散水が要求される。有風条件下では, ホ場実験の再現性が確保されない。ここでは, 著者らの有風条件下での複数スプリンクラーの散水分布と均等係数を予測計算する方法を適用して, 単一スプリンクラーの散水分布特性, 風, スプリンクラーの配置等とホ場内の散水分布および散水の均等係数との相関関係を定量的に解明し, 実際的なスプリンクラー散水カンガイ装置の設計と器材開発の要件を明らかにした。

    A study has been made to examine the effect of transformation on ridging phenomena occurring in ferritic stainless steels, using an iron-based alloy transformable.
    The ridging occurred also in the alloy. In the specimens cold-rolled after having been directly cut from the ingot, the ridging occurrence was not suppressed only by the heat treatment for recrystallization. But it was suppressed by the treatment for transformation. The condition for the suppression did not depend on the type of the transformation, such as martensitic. In the specimens cold-rolled after the transformations, although the ridging appeared, its size was found to be smaller than that without the transformation. On the other hand, the variations resulting from the transformation, such as grain refining, strengthening of matrix, and change in the textures by various processes, were considered not to relate directly to the mechanism of suppression for the ridging occurrence.
    From these results, the effect of the transformation on the suppression for the ridging phenomena was concluded as follows. By transforming, the elongated grains formed during rolling, some of which may behave as a single crystal under straining, are divided into much more fine grains with various orientations, and thus the orientational rotation of the elongated grains becomes difficult to develop.

    Problems related to influence of wind on sprinkler sprays are wind drift, amount of evaporation loss, variation in the sprinkling region, etc. As a consequence, geometric pattern form is influenced by these effects directly. The wind condition near the earth's surface is turbulent flow and vary with time. On the other hand, the author introduced the concept of mean wind velocity and theoretically calculated the geometric pattern form of a single sprinkler. Some of the calculated data were compared with the experimental data and the accuracy of the theoretical calculation were confirmed.
    1) On flat field
    a) On the assumption that the wind velocity is the same as the average wind, the author considered the case of a velocity profile according to logarithmic law.
    b) Previous calculated data were used for the calculation of the geometric pattern form of a single sprinkle on flat field under a windy condition.
    c) The calculated geometric pattern form shows a shift to the wind direction according to the wind speed.
    2) On inclined field
    a) On the assumption that the wind velocity is the same as the average wind, the author considerd a case of. uniform velocity distribution.
    b) The wind direction is assumed to be parallel to the earth's surface and the x direction. And, the following equations are obtained in the x, y and z

    In order to obtain uniformity of sprinkler irrigation on inclined field, the author derived some factors required for this purpose by appling the results of theoretical calculation on the trajectory of flying water droplets of various diameters projected from a sprinkler nozzle. A special sprinkler was designed to determine the theoretical data. As a result, the following two methods are considered as means for uniform distribution of water on inclined field.
    a) Method of controlling the angular velocity of a rotary sprinkler according to discharge direction. By this method water concentration at the upper part of inclined field is improved and the mean depth of sprinkled water in any discharge direction becomes uniform.
    b) Method of varying the nozzle angle of a sprinkler according to the discharge derection to get uniform water distribution. By this method the nozzle angle can be set so as to make the flying water droplets of the same diameter fall at an equal distance in any discharge direction on inclined field, so that the same geometric pattern as on the flat field can be obtained.

    In Tube-end Spinning, “softening” of tube material with frictional heat generated at interface between die and tubular stock, is considered as the most important fundamental principle. And so, knowing about the forming temperature and effective heat to soften the tube material is required to discuss the formability for Tube-end Spinning. In this paper, the equation of mean temperature θm1 of material at forming portion, and effective heat Q1 which is available for softening tube material during the forming are formulated. The results are written as below.
    (1) The mean temperature θm1 increases according to the increase of die revolution and decreases according to the increase of the feeding rate of tubular stock.
    (2) Effective heat Q1 is proportional to the forming time and becomes larger according to die revolution increase, smaller according to feeding rate and die angle increase.
    (3) Effective heat Q1 is about 20-40% of total heat, and the amount of heat flowing into die is largest among of heat losses.

    Since nearly all sprinklers are sprinkling over circular areas, a certain amount of overlap is always necessary for uniform water distribution.
    The degree of the uniformity of water distribution in the field can be expressed numerically by the index-Uniformity Coefficient (Cu) which is defined by the equation Cu=100 (1.0-ΣX/m·n).
    This index is an important factor for planning and controlling the sprinkler irrigation system and has been evaluated from such experiments as the Pan tests and the Can test.
    In this report, the authors propose a method of calculation to evaluate the Uniformity Coefficient from the distribution pattern formed by a single sprinkler and to use an electronic computer in order to process this calculation.
    Then, an optimum spacing for a certain sprinkler discharge profile and an optimum sprinkler discharge profile for a certain spacing are studied by using this calculation technique.
    These data and the proposed calculation technique may be very useful for the planning and control of a sprinkler irrigation system.

    いわゆる切込刃などの在来の刈払機用刈刃の欠点は, 短時間のうちに摩耗や刃こぼれを生ずることであり, 摩耗によって切断角が大きくなった刈刃は, 目立てしても切れ味が充分に回復しない。また, 刈刃の回転と作業動作に伴って生ずるジャイロ偶力が意外と大きく, これによる疲労の問題も無視できず, 安全性の点でも大いに問題がある。一方, ナイロンカッターは, 安全ではるが, 耐久性に乏しい。本報のピアノ線刃による草刈装置は, これらの欠点をいくらかでも除去しようとの意図から考案されたもので, 機構の主体は, ピアノ線刃を円盤周部の取付環に回動自在になるように取り付けたことにある。
    本報では, ピアノ線刃の構成並びに諸元を決定するための実験を行い, 実用化の可能性を考察した。続報では, 高速度写真などによる, 雑草に対する切断特性を明らかにし, さらに作業者が受ける生体負担及びそれに関与する諸要因を調べた結果を報告する。

    As a basic study on control of local meteorological condition by sprinkler sprays, the behavior of fine water droplets in the air was studied.
    The data obtained are summarized as follows;
    1) The equations of motion of flying water droplet in the moving air are as follows;

    2) Water droPlets which satisfy the following relationship do not fall on the ground but drift in the air. These droplets play an important role on the control of local meteorological condition.

    3) Calculated data shows that drifting droPlets have nearly the same flying velocity as wind. Therefore the aspect of diffusion and mixture of fine water droplets in the air is the same as the aspocts of flow of the atmosphere. Also, the change in diameter of drifting water droplet due to evaporation can be calculated by the following equation.

    The origin of ridging phenomenon in 18% Cr ferritic stainless steel sheet was studied and the following results were obtained.
    (1) Macroscopic stripe pattern which was composed of many dark and bright microscopic stripes running along the rolling direction of sheet was observed on the surface of sheet when it was severely etched.
    (2) Macroscopic and microscopic stripes corresponded with large and small undulations of ridging, respectively, which was appeared after stretching of sheet.
    (3) Line analysis with EPMA across the dark and bright zones in stripe pattern showed clear segregation of chromium and carbon.
    (4) This segregation was inherited from the two-phase structuse, austenite and ferrite, in hot rolled sheet and was hold even in cold rolled and annealed sheet. Each segregation zone was extended by cold rolling and made a stripe pattern on the surface of sheet.

    Plastic deformation of metals or alloys in the forming processes is often called metal flow. Metal flow in hot extrusion of an aluminum alloy is closely connected with distortion of the cross section of the product and with peripheral recrystallization which causes streaks after anodizing. Then, the metal flow characteristics and the strain conditions in the deformation zone in hot extrusion of 6063 Aluminum alloy were investigated by employing the visioplasticity method. Furthermore, metal flow control technique by generating some temperature difference, in which deformation resistance of the billet becomes lower at higher temperature, in the deformation zone in the billet could be confirmed in the present investigation. Temperature difference could be generated by using the extrusion die constructed with multiple die materials having different thermal conductivities.

    The relations between directions of cold rolling and the of hot rolling for the appearance of ridging have been studied, by using the pole figure method, microscopic observation, tensile deformation, and measurement of surface roughness. Hot rolled plates 4 mm in thick were cold-rolled to 90% reduction at different angle of 0°, 30°, 45°, 90° to the direction of hot rolling. The plates were then heat treated at 700°C for one min; this treatment imparted much softness and little changes to their rolling textures. These plates were finally subjected to 20% elongation.
    It was found that the appearance and magnitude of ridging was governed as a function of the angles between the two rolling directions; with an increase of the angle, the ridging decreased and completely disappeared at 90°. It should also be noted that the ridging phenomena in this instance were independent of the rolling textures or the microscopic structures, because the textures or structures of the plates were essentially equivalent to one another at 90% reduction.
    These results are significant for elucidating the mechanism of ridging, and other factors except the rolling textures should be required to account for the ridging phenomena.
