The atmospheric corrosion rates of several metals depend on the concentration of air pollutants. This phenomenon was applyed to estimate the concentration of air pollutants at three zones in Hyogo Prefec. The corrosion rate of the metal was represented as the reflectances of the metal by red and blue lights (RR and RB).
The relations between the reflectance as RR
Ag, RB
Ag, RB
Zn and these population probavility were found of approximately logarithmic normal distribution. In 3 zones, the correlation coefficient between RR
Ag and RB
Ag was found to be larger than that between RR
Cu and RB
Cu, but the other correlation coefficients between two reflectances of RR
Ag, RB
Ag, RR
Cu and RB
Cu differed from the each other in relation to zoes. The correlation coefficients in 2 zones between RB
Ag and RB
zn were found to be larger than the other's between two reflectances of RR
Ag, RB
Ag, RR
Zn and RB
Zn.
