This study described and compared the actual learning participation and process of three individuals in the Beni-Hoppe strawberry farm, namely the owner-farmer, an experienced farm worker and an inexperienced farm worker. Using daily farm records and personal interviews, Legitimate Peripheral Participation by Lave and Wenger revealed that although commonness on the owner’s instruction at the early working stage was prevalent, differences in improvisations during insect-pest outbreaks and crop growing stage were found. In general, this study found individual improvisations on strawberry as a learning medium and interaction among members of the farm as Community of Practice.
