    This present research has clarified the following points. First, along with rising incomes, expenditures for dining out among Chinese urban citizens have been increasing at an extremely high rate since the latter half of the 1990s. However, the proportion of expenditures for dining out among all food expenditures has remained level since 2006. This is due to the slowing of income growth and the diversification of expenditures for dining out. Second, individuals in their 20s and 30s dine out frequently, but this is not the case among the middle-aged and elderly (50 years and older). Also, individuals in their 20s are the age group for which the increase in expenditures for dining out is the most pronounced, while such expenditures have been decreasing among individuals in their 50s and older. Third, traditional Chinese foods such as noodles and jiaozi (dumplings) are frequently chosen from restaurant menus, but fast food and rice bowls are also prevalent choices. The preference for fast food is particularly pronounced among the younger generation. Fourth, there are differences among cities in terms of the frequency of dining out as well as dining choices. This background of regional particularity is informed by differences in eating habits and food culture. Thus, it is clear that menu choices as well as upward and downward trends in the frequency of outside dining differ greatly across different age groups. Therefore, it is proper to view the diversity of forms of outside dining and the associated changes in relation to the life cycles of urban citizens.

    In Japan, many housing complexes were constructed during the postwar reconstruction period and the period of rapid economic growth. Commercial facilities were built in these housing complexes, but due to the aging of the facilities, reconstruction has become necessary. This study clarified the reconstruction method and process of KOURIGAOKA CORiO in Kori housing complex, as well as its subsequent management and operation. Furthermore, we conducted a questionnaire survey of visitors and compared their awareness of the current KOURIGAOKA CORiO with that of the shopping district before the reconstruction and analyzed the results.

    In area management, securing human and financial resources is often a constant issue. This is especially true in regional cities. In this study, we examined the development of area management activities in the case of Sakurai City, Nara Pref. We then analyzed the actual situation of securing human resources and financial resources. Specifically, we clarified the impetus for each person’s participation in area management, the roles of each person, and the status of financial resources and income/expenditure in the activities.

    This study on the outside dining patterns of urban citizens of various age groups in Beijing has clarified the following points. First, among menu choices when dining out, there is a preference for traditional Chinese foods,particularly among the middle-aged and elderly. On the other hand, the younger generation exhibits a marked preference for fast food and rice bowls. Second, individuals in their 20s and 30s utilize a wide range of outside dining establishments, from fast food restaurants aimed at the general public to upscale hotel restaurants and restaurants serving international cuisine. Also, the younger generation tends to have a sense of “gluttony” regarding outside dining expenditures, and many intend to dine out less often in the future. Third, different types of companions tend to accompany diners to different venues. For instance, diners utilize workplace cafeterias because of user-friendly attributes such as low cost and proximity, and the ordinary usage pattern involves employees eating lunch with their coworkers on weekdays. On the other hand, among individuals in their 20s, fast food establishments and ordinary restaurants are utilized primarily as venues for deepening relationships with friends and relatives over lunch or dinner on days off. Additionally,among individuals in their 30s and 40s, saturday and sunday lunch and dinner outings are generally enjoyed together with children. Thus, forms of outside dining expenditures are strongly influenced by the life cycles of urban citizens.

     This paper aims to grasp the changes of Tiananmen Square at the beginning of the 20th century by using public documents, newspapers, and other literature. In the Ming and Qing eras, Tiananmen Square was originally a "forbidden square", however after the Boxer Rebellion and the Xinhai Revolution, the square became a public space on New Year's Day in 1913. After opening to the public, several new gates were built in order to improve the accessibility of Tiananmen Square. Some organizations even planed to turn the square into a commercial district, but it failed to realize. On the contrary to the newly allowable public access, the security of Tiananmen became stricter, and the Beijing Government monopolized the square sometimes and used it for some events such as Yuan Shikai's military parades on National Foundation Day in 1913 and 1914. It can be said that Tiananmen Square had characters of both a “forbidden square” and a public space at this time.

    This study is intended to clarify the vocabulary of architecture and urban design by analyzing the critical reviews in Sapporo Urban Design Awards. Critical reviews are described as composition of objects in evaluation and evaluation basis. As the results of classifications, objects in evaluation are classified into 30 categories of spatial elements and activities. And, evaluation basis are classified into 18 categories. These two aspects of reviews, objects and basis, are combined and form critical units. By analyzing of meanings, the differences of critical units are identified among the classifications of spatial types, architecture, open space and activities. its tend to be pointed basis in norm on the architecture, basis in utilities on whole and part of open space, and basis in matching and expression on part of objects. Typical forms of critical reviews have some kind of basis and objects, and some have hierarchical composition of objects and basis.

    上海における和服着用者の活動の動機・内容や活動空間のあり方を分析することで,中国において日本の民族衣装である和服が,どのように受容されているのかという点について検討した.研究方法として,和服同好会の会合等での活動記録の分析に加えて,同好会の活動に参加している会員らに対してインタビュー調査やアンケート調査を行った.同好会の活動内容をみると,和服や他の日本文化に関する活動の体験や交流活動が中心になっているが,実際の和服の着用方法や着用の際の作法等の学習会も多く行われている.その理由として,漢服のような中国の民族衣装では不明になっている,「真正」なデザインや着用方法・作法に関心を持つ人もいる点が挙げられる.活動空間の特徴をみると,調査時期には,中国と西側諸国の国際関係の悪化や新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大により,その活動内容や活動場所が制約される一方で,活動の商業化の傾向もみられた.同好会の会員たちには,日本において伝統的に存在してきた「真正性」のある和服を着用したいという意識がある一方で,中国では,和服を着用するにふさわしい場所の確保が難しいという側面もある.その中で,同好会では茶道や華道,弓道といった他の日本文化に関係する団体とも提携しながら活動空間を形成しようとしているが,同好会の会合は,都心部の一般的な商業施設にて開催される場合が多かった.また,ディズニーランドやクリスマス,ハロウィンといった,必ずしも日本の歴史的文化とはいえない空間や活動とも結びつきながら,その活動の場が形成されていた点も特徴的であるといえる.

    Methods of this study is to analyze factors by structural equation modeling based on a questionnaire survey for users of the hall and library complexes. As results, these following points were clarified. Firstly, mutual use was improved when the users recognized the whole facility. Next, symbolism improved the recognition of the whole facility. Lastly, the coziness of the facility reduced the recognition of the whole facility. Based on the above findings, it is necessary to prepare mechanism to raise the recognition of the symbolism and the whole image of the facility, promote mutual use, and spend time in fluid location.
