The purpose of this study is considering multiculturalism focusing on the U.S social cultural approach. This study aims at obtaining the suggestion for exploring the direction of the appreciation education of South Korea and Japan from now on. Appreciation education must support the attitude for approaching fine arts critically, searching fine arts and focusing on the relation of culture. By this study for appreciation education, the keypoints which U. S. multiculturalism suggests were analyzed as follows. 1 reconsider on regulation between arts and culture 2 concern about other cultures, as others 3 plural understanding 4 contact, transfiguration, conflict between cultures 5 the problem of identity as a viewer (subject)
