Paints are used in a wide range of industrial fields, but recently technological development has been activelycarried out by each company in order to reduce environmental impact and health risks in the use process.Examples include high solids by reducing the amount of solvent used, water systemization, use of LED lightsources, energy saving by low temperature curing, and so on.Meanwhile, Showa Denko developed isocyanate monomer“ KarenzTM” by our own technology, and its useis various such as electronic materials. However, since the isocyanate monomer of Karenz ® tends to beexpensive, it is difficult to apply to general use. Under these circumstances, Showa Denko developed andlaunched“ AOI-VMTM” in 2015. AOI-VM became producible by improved the manufacturing method ofKarenzAOITM, and cheaper price has become possible than before.In this paper, we consider that AOI-VM can make a new proposal for resin design for various materials,especially for paint resins. As a result, it is reported that characteristic physical properties could be confirmedby using AOI-VM.
