Hydrophobized plant polyphenols can be easily prepared by rational and controlled etherification of highlyabundant aromatic hydroxyls with linear alkyl chains. The resultant organo-soluble polyphenols spontaneouslyformed fibrous structures and unravelled to be potential adhesive, anticorrosion, and antibacterial coatings.
