抄録

This article explained environmental stress cracking of plastics, which is one of the problems that often occur in the market. The contents explained are phenomena, mechanisms, evaluation methods, and countermeasures. The 1/4 ellipse method is often used as an evaluation method, but since there is no international standard for this method, it seems that each company decides the standard and uses it. Hansen’s solubility parameter can be an effective tool when discussing the compatibility of plastics with environmental fluids.
