This article describes the design principle of tetra-gels and the structural rationale for founding a venture company to enable their medical implementation. Conventional gels suffer from network inhomogeneity, limiting predictability and rational design. Tetra-gels, constructed with well-defined homogeneous networks, allow structure–property relationships to be treated theoretically and enable inverse material design with rapid prototyping cycles. Recognizing the gap between academic publication and clinical application, particularly in safety-critical medical fields, I established a venture as a structural interface between research and society. Gellycle focuses on addressing clinical needs affecting patient quality of life, while clearly separating research logic from business execution and limiting activities to proof-of-concept stages.
