Abstract
With the advancement of IT technology in recent years, new technologies such as the e-learning system in surgical education, have been increasingly applied in the field of medical education. In addition, the on-the-job training with paper textbooks has made the surgeons more competent and proficient. Until now, the use of paper textbooks is still popular in the field of medical education. However, the paper textbooks only use the typical illustrations, surgery photos, surgical procedures of liver, and it takes a lot of time and feedback to bridge the gaps with the surgery practices. Therefore, it is necessary to actively use the e-books, which make the best advantage of the multi-media learning. In this study, a dynamic interactive textbook of surgery is being developed. It can be used to study surgery in a three-dimensional way, with a variety of materials included such as 3DCG models, videos, interactive image, and voices etc.
