Abstract
In electron microscopic studies on the morphology of cultured rabbit renal glomerular cells (RRGC), we found that the RRGC originated from mesangial cells in the renal glomerulus. Granular materials were seen in cytoplasma of RRGC in periodic acid-Schiff reaction. In light microscopic histochemistry, activity of acid phosphatase (ACPase) was observed in the cytoplasma of the RRGC. Early in the primary culture ACPase activity was not evident in the RRGC, but in the subcultured cells activity was intense.
