This paper starts with a conviction that "Manyoh-Syu" poem no.52 is the text for the structure of Scenery. The Scenery structure and the Structure of "seeing" in the "KUNIMI" ritual, considered to be a typical experience in ancient Japan, are defined in order to make clear of the background of the poem. Based on four ancient Japanese books, I suggested that the era of "KUNIMI" ritual should be devided into three periods and each period should have its particular perceptive structure. In conclusion, the ancient Japanese Scenery should be named "Scenery of self-effacement".
