This paper discuses a method and a system of generating a dimensioned line plan from a plane graph which represents a house floor plan. The features of the method is as follows. 1) First, the system calculates standard area of each room on the basis of the areas which are given by the user. Then the rooms are represented by squares with standard areas, and "connection", "movement" and "deformation" of rooms are operated in order to satisfy the neighboring relationship. 2) After all the rooms are connected, the shape of a corridor is adjusted so as to the width is fixed. Finally, the external shape of the plan is adjusted. It is confirmed that it is promising to apply this method on a CAAD system which generates house floor plans automatically.
