Abstract
This series of papers aims to clarify the characteristic of the modular proportioning of a bracket complex written in “Kamakura Zoei Myomoku” which had been formed in 16 to 17 century by carpenters in Kamakura. This paper identifies the specific member called ‘Kasane Hijiki’ and ‘Kaketo’, and examine the use of them on remain buildings. Findings are follows; (1) The Kasane Hijiki is bracket arms appeared in a sectional direction of a complex with increased height and width. (2) The Kaketo is bearing blocks on bracket arms in a sectional direction and is made about 10% increase of a Makito bearing block dimensions. (3) The use of these members can be found in the remains of Zen Buddhism buildings in Kanto Area and it shows the characteristic of this book that contains the traditional design method in the east Japan in middle ages.
