For holistic evaluation on architectural planning and large-scale development projects, it is important to examine the methodology of weight determination of factors, such as the construction cost, quality of design, and energy consumption. Therefore the authors performed the four types of questionnaire surveys. In these surveys, four methods are adopted for investigation, they are ranking method, grading method, analytical hierarchy principle (AHP), and conjoint analysis. In the conjoint analysis, the weights were deduced from the parameter 'β' based on the assumption that the levels with unit of all factors are in proportion to qualitative scores. From the analysis of the questionnaire surveys, following results are reached. 1) Although the ranks of weight of all four methods are similar, the differences of weights among the factors differ according to the weight determination method. 2) The weight difference based on the conjoint analysis is the most remarkable of four methods. That based on the AHP is secondary large. 3) The weight based on the ranking method of each answerers do not agree with that based on the AHP method.
