In model building of urban structure, to select the spatial parameters is probably most important. It has bun empirically known that the distance from C. B. D. is strongly related to population distribution. To prove this the method of of analysis of variance was introduced. The result is that the distribution of population is closely related to the distance from the station which commonly uses daily trips as well as the distance from C. B. D. To build the model of population density distribution sectors wire obtained along the railroads which radiated from the central area, or ternminated at the station located in sub-central area. As the residential density of world metropolitan area, the density is highest near the central area and reduces gradually out wards. Several equations were picked up in under to judge the fitness and the following two equations were adopte. ρ=A/(a+d)^2 ρ=Ae^<-αd> where ρ=density of population at the place of distance or from the central area or sub central area A=maximum density of population in residential area a=constant a>0 α=coefficient In this study, to gain the ideal residential density, information obtained from the metropolitan area traffic census used as to change the whole area to residential area. The growth rate of population in a residntial district is inversely proportional to the density of that district and further study proved that the trend of growth was explained by logistic curve.
