In Japan, experimental datas on the strength of combined joints are not sufficient, and so by the working group the strength of combined joints of next cases is examined experimentally i) High tension bolt and fillet weld ii) Rivet and fillet weld iii) Rivet and high tension bolt These experiments are limitted to the case the fasteners are rather small. As the result of these test, as for the case i) and ii) the ultimate strength of the combined joints is the sum of the slip load of high tension bolt or rivet and the maximum load of fillt weld, and as for the case iii) the ultimate strength of the combined joints is the sum of the maximum load of high tension bolt and that of rivet.
