Abstract
Thermal storage tanks is generally useful for relief of heating and cooling peak load in air conditioning. By the application of the thermal storage, cooling and heating capacity of refrigerator and heat pump can be lessened, and moreover running cost can be lowered by operating at night. Especially, thermal storage tanks is most useful in case of the heat reclaime system in buildings. In this paper we report the theoretical analysis of thermal storage tanks of water as thermal weight. Thermal weight is varied by mixing conditions in a water tank. We express mixing condition by three elements M, P, q, and reduce the response of input and output by parameter of them. M means the factor of mixing condition by the diffusion model, P means the factor of dead space in a water tank and q means the factor of short circuit in water flow. We produce indicial response β(φ) of input water temperature θ_i(φ) and output water temperature θ_r(φ), and then reduce indicial response A(φ) of input heating or cooling load Q(φ) and output water temperature θ_r(φ). A(φ) can be obtained by solving integral equation, (see page) or a next "s" range equation. (laplace transformation) [numerical formula] In addition, we show a calculating table of the indicial response A(φ), and theoretical equation about connected thermal storage tanks is derived.
