Abstract
The subject of this paper is the derivation of the method of estimating the temperature rise curve in burning concrete room. The method of estimation employed is to calculate the fire temperature from the equation of heat balance relating to tne total heat loss and the heat quantity produced by a fire. In this calculation, following assumptions are used: (1) The room is filled with flames. (2) The emissivity of the flames is approximately 1.0. (3) The outside of the window is a black body at the outdoor temperature. The fire temperature curve calculated is expressed according to the opening factor of the room as shown in Fig. 7. The opening factor is given by √<H> A_B/A_T, where, H is the height of the window, A_B is the area of the window and A_T is the total area of the inside surface of the room.
