The idea of normalization and also townscape is still important issue on the walk space nowadays and it is not only aged and the disabled but for ordinary human being. The objective of this study is to clarify the condition of walk space from the viewpoints of townscape and safety. So that, this study investigated and evaluated actual condition of townscape and safety of 7 streets of Toyohashi City central area as a case study. Basically this evaluation is performed using two methods. One is evaluation of physical condition and the second is evaluation from the pedestrian by walk experiment. In conclusion, this article discusses the problems and ways of improving townscape and safety on the walk way.
