The scheme of analyzing Japanese clay wall is proposed in this paper. The analysis model of a clay wall is composed of frame member for both post and beam, rectangular solid model for clay and contact analysis model for the contact between clay and frame. The smeared crack approach is used for clay solid model as reference. The comparison between tests and analysis shows that the maximum strength, the skelton curve and the curve in unloading of clay wall are calculated approximately.
