This study aims to explain the actual condition of the background, process and drafting crafts workers concerning the transferring construction of Yamaguchi residence, in Isehara, Kanagawa prefecture, by the research in the newly discovered plans, the documents and the traces on the present building. It was moved 700meter distance for 38days in 1869 and built an extension of zashiki rooms suiting its social status as a local lord by a lot of crafts workers. Yamaguchi residence can be said a good example of not only the excellent design and high quality finish, but also a transferring construction in those days.
